How do You SEO?

Some early results are in to our "How do you SEO?" survey:

  • Most of the respondents have ad campaigns going with the big 3 (Google, Yahoo & Bing).
  • Most target more than 1000 keywords in their campaigns.
  • Respondents create custom ads for each of their products and less so for each keyword.
  • All but one respondent optimizes their web site code for organic discovery.The majority value natural results over paid results. (But one noted that his paid results have better conversion.)
  • Respondents were mostly marketing firms.
  • Most have 1 person in charge of watching search engine activity. The rest have anywhere from 2-5 people.
  • Overall marketing budget is averaging $685,682 so far. Of that, 8% or $55,550 is directed to ONLINE marketing.
